Biography

Born in the village of Musino in the Volokolamsk district of the Moscow region on November 17, 1904 (according to the old style) in a family of zemstvo teachers . He studied at the 1st Moscow gymnasium , in 1922 he graduated from the Yaropol school of the second level. In 1919 he joined the Komsomol .

He graduated from three courses of the Moscow Construction College (1926). In the same year he entered the military service [1] in the Red Army . He graduated from the Artillery School (1930), the Artillery Academy. F.E. Dzerzhinsky (1938), adjunct with her (1941).

He began his service as a commander in the 37th cavalry artillery division of the 7th cavalry artillery regiment of the 7th Samara cavalry division [1] .

Member of World War II . The commander of the 2nd battalion of the combined regiment of the Academy, defending Moscow at the Krasnaya Pakhra-Podolsk line . He fought as a member of the troops of the North-Western , Southern and 4th Ukrainian Fronts in the following positions : chief of staff of the Guards mortar units (GMC) of the operational group of the front, head of the operational group of the front, commander of the 2nd Guards mortar division , deputy front commander of the GMC.

Major General of Artillery (1943), the first commander of the 22nd Special Purpose Brigade of the RVGK (the first missile formation in the USSR) from June 1946 to August 1948, head of the Rostov Higher Artillery Engineering School (1954 - 1956) [2] .

In 1947, he directed the preparations for launching the first ballistic missile A-4 ( FAU-2 ) in the USSR. He worked with S. P. Korolev [1] [3] [4] .

After the war: the first commander of the first special-purpose brigade of the reserve of the Supreme High Command, the head of the Chebarkul Joint Artillery Training Ground, the head of the 1st Directorate of the State Central Testing Ground ( Kapustin Yar ), the deputy head of the school, the head of the Rostov VAIU (1954-1956), and the senior lecturer General Staff Military Academy at the Special Department of Special Equipment. Dismissed from active service in 1960 [5] .

He died on December 31, 1992 in Moscow. He was buried at Danilovsky cemetery next to his wife. In 2011, a memorial plate was inaugurated at his grave. The opening was timed to coincide with the 65th anniversary of the formation of the first rocket formation of the country's Armed Forces - brON RVGK, which later became the successors of the 22nd Special Purpose Brigade (1950), the 72nd Engineering Brigade of the RVGK (1953) and the 24th Missile Division [ 2] .

Rewards

He was awarded the orders of Lenin (1956), the Red Banner (1942, 1945, 1947, 1951), the Red Star (1944), World War I degree (1943, 1985), Suvorov II degree (1944), Kutuzov II degree (1943), Bogdan Khmelnitsky II degree (1944) and various medals. [five]
