Biography

Alexei Mikhailovich Arkharov was born on January 28, 1931 in Moscow [1] . His father was an engineer [2] . He studied at school number 59 named. N.V. Gogol of the Kiev region of Moscow. The school teachers of Aleksey Arkharov were: Vera Vladimirovna Skazkina, Margarita Nikolaevna Demyanovich, Ekaterina Nikolaevna Kurilo, Alexander Vasilievich Morozkin, Nikolai Nikolaevich Novikov, Evgenia Nikolaevna Zhudko, Lev Ardalonovich Mishchenyuk, Alexander Vasilyevich Morozkin, Alexandra Alekseevna Krasnoshchekova, Evgenia Nikolaevna Dombrovskaya.

After graduation, Alexei Arkharov entered the Moscow Technical University. N. E. Bauman on a specialty "Refrigeration and compressor machines" of the faculty "Thermal and hydraulic machines". His teacher in higher mathematics was Adolf Pavlovich Yushkevich, the resistance of materials was taught by Sergey Dmitrievich Ponomarev, descriptive geometry - Khristofor Artemevich Arustamov [4] , English - Kira Dmitrievna Belogolovaya. The head of his thesis project, and later of the dissertation, was Professor Semyon Yakovlevich Gersh [5] .

In 1954, Alexei Arkharov graduated with honors from MVTU im. N. E. Bauman [2] .

After graduation, he began working as a senior laboratory assistant at one of the departments of Moscow State Technical University. N.E. Bauman. Then he moved to the post of junior research fellow, later became a leading engineer and associate professor [2] .

In 1958, Alexei Mikhailovich Arkharov defended his dissertation, in 1969 - a doctoral dissertation. In 1971, he was approved as a professor. He became the founder and head of the laboratory of gas-dynamic methods for producing cold [2] .

In the period from 1971 to 1972, Alexey Arkharov worked in the laboratories of the Syracuse and California universities of the United States together with professors W. Gifford and T. Frederking [1]

From 1975 to 1988, he was dean of the Faculty of Energy Engineering. In 1987 he headed the department "Refrigeration, cryogenic equipment, air conditioning and life support systems" of Moscow State Technical University. N. E. Bauman [2] .

Alexey Arkharov has published over 450 scientific papers related to cryogenic refrigeration technology, including 60 inventions, 25 books. He wrote "Low Temperature Technique", "Low-Temperature Gas Machines", "Cryogenic Piston Expander", "Heat Engineering", a textbook for university students "Cryogenic Systems". He supervised the defense of candidate and doctoral dissertations by V. L. Bondarenko, A. A. Zherdev, A. G. Grechko, A. I. Smorodin, Yu. A. Shevich, M. Yu. Savinov [2] .

Alexey Arkharov is in the editorial boards of the magazines “Refrigeration equipment” and “Vestnik MAX” [2] . Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and the European Academy of Natural Sciences of the city of Hanover [6] . Chairman of the Moscow Regional Branch of the International Academy of Refrigeration [1] .
