Biography

Born in Libercourt in a family of Polish immigrants. Grew up in Even-Malmeson . From the age of 14 he worked as an apprentice. Then he began to play football [1] . From the age of 18 he worked as a mechanic at a refinery in Tumeri . He played for the factory football team [2] . A year later, he joined the Douai club, and from there, two years later, moved to Troyes .

In 1952 he moved to Reims , in which he composed an attacking trio with Raymond Kopa and Bram Appel . In 1953 he made his debut as part of the French national team in a game with Luxembourg , which ended with the victory of the “three-color” with a score of 6: 1.

In 1954 he entered the national team application for the World Cup . He played in the opening game against Yugoslavia , which the French lost 0: 1.

In 1956, as part of Reims, he reached the finals of the first Champions Cup .

Since 1957 he played for Monaco and Saint-Etienne . In 1960, he returned to Reims at the insistence of Raymond Cope, who wanted to play with him [1] .

After the completion of his playing career, he worked as a coach of Dijon and Olympic from Avignon [1] .
