Career
Andreas Matt was born in 1982 into a sports family. His older brother Mario is a famous skier, 2014 Olympic slalom champion and three-time world champion. Andreas Michael's younger brother is also a skier, Olympic medalist and world championships.
Non-international arena in the World Cup Andreas Matt made his debut in early 2004 at the stage in Le-Contaminus-Monjois , where he took 54th place. Three days after the debut, he became the 27th on the stage at Pozza di Fassa , gaining his first career cup points.
For several years, Matt did not achieve much success and teetered on the verge of hitting the Austrian national team. It was only at the end of the 2007/08 season that an Austrian hit the cup podium for the first time, becoming the third in the Italian Valmalenko stage. Fortunately for Matt season 2008/09 . At the Olympics in Sochi, Andreas Matt won his 1/8 finals, but in the quarterfinals he took the last place and stopped the fight for medals.
September 15, 2016 announced the completion of a sports career.
