Development
January 3, 2017 under the name The World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap released a version of the game for the Xbox One [2] . NeocoreGames announced its work on porting the game to the PlayStation 4 [3] .
Story
The game takes place in a setting based on Gothic literature , which first appeared in The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing . A lone protagonist goes to the border world of an alternative dimension to protect ancient fortresses from hordes of monsters trying to get into the physical world [4] .

The user can choose a character from three game classes: warrior, sorceress and shooter, differing in the style of the game. Each game level represents several predefined routes for waves of opponents, as well as places for building common traps for all game classes [5] . They can be created and improved due to the mystical resource of the "essence" obtained by killing enemies and passing waves. Victory is ensured by the destruction of all enemies and not reaching a certain number of portal portal boundaries. The work of traps that injure and kill opponents is supplemented by attacks of the hero himself, who is able to move freely on the map and with the help of passive skills to strengthen existing traps in various ways [4] [5] .
In the break between the levels of the game due to the gained experience points, the player can improve his character, as well as buy and use equipment that fell out of the monsters during the battle to strengthen his abilities [5] . Some traps and improvements to them require unlocking access to them [4] [6] .
The initial story mode contains 13 levels, but after the hero has gained enough experience, the script mode and infinity become available. In the first case, you can change the complexity of the game cards using various parameters, while in the second you will have to survive the game with limited resources and a growing level of opponents. Deathtrap also contains a multiplayer mode and cooperative passing and confrontation for four players, as well as a map editor [4] [6] [7] .
Reception
The version of the game for a personal computer was rated 77 points on the Metacritic review aggregator based on 26 reviews [8] .
Browser Riot Pixels Snor put the game 73% of the 100 possible. Of the positive aspects, innovations, gameplay and multiplayer were noted, of the shortcomings - the actual status of the add-on for "The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing" [5] .
