Physico-geographical characteristics
The village is located within the Volga Upland , which is part of the East European Plain , on the left side of the Ozerny Dol ( Tereshka river basin), at an altitude of about 90-100 meters above sea level [3] . Soils are residual carbonate chernozems [4] .
The village is located about 24 km in a straight line northward from the district center of the city of Khvalynsk . 2 km south-east of the station is the village of the same name of the urban type . By road, the distance to the regional center is 38 km, to the regional center of the city of Saratov - 270 km [5] .

History
The settlement was founded during the Great Patriotic War .
In 1942, for the efficient transfer of troops and cargo to Stalingrad , a single-track railway line was laid connecting Syzran and Sennaya station (Volsky district). The road was built towards each other from two sides. The Renaissance station was built at the final junction of the two parts. In 1943, the construction of additional tracks and the movement of passenger trains began, and the first station was built. An oil depot was built to support nearby collective farms [7] .
In 2015, the type of settlement "railway station" was changed to "station" [8] .
