Kalju Rudolfovich Reitel ( Est. Kalju Reitel ; February 11, 1921, Tapa - September 10, 2004, Tallinn) - Estonian Soviet sculptor. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.

Biography
He graduated from high school in Tapa in 1941 [1] .
From 1942 to 1943 he studied at the Estonian Academy of Arts , from 1943 to 1944 - at a flight school in Liepaja , then he was mobilized into the Estonian division of the German Air Force ( Luftwaffe ). At the end of the war, he tried to move from Germany to Sweden, but was interned and ended up in prison in the American zone of German occupation.
After leaving prison, Reitel went to France, from where he repatriated to the Estonian SSR in 1945.
In 1950, he completed his education at the Estonian Academy of Arts and began teaching sculpture at the Tallinn Industrial College and at the Tallinn Palace of Pioneers. In December of the same year he was arrested. In custody he was in Vorkuta prisons. He was released in 1955.
He became the head of the sculpture circle in the Tallinn Palace of Pioneers (later Kullo Culture Center). There he studied with future sculptors Hille Palm and Jaak Soans and architect Rein Luup. The sculptor Tauno Kangro studied at Reutel’s workshop.
