Biography
Nikolai Petrovich was born on May 24, 1918 in Simbirsk , now Ulyanovsk . In 1945, Sergeev N.P. graduated from the military faculty of the Moscow Conservatory in the class of conducting with Yu. M. Timofeev [1] . In 1951-1977 he was the chief conductor of the first separate Indicative Orchestra of the USSR Ministry of Defense. 1977–1989 - artistic director and chief conductor of the State Brass Band of the RSFSR .
In 1967, Nikolai Petrovich Sergeev conducted the orchestra at the author's concert of the People’s Artist of the USSR A. I. Khachaturian .
In the years 1969-1974, N. P. Sergeev led a class of conducting at the military conducting department of the Moscow Conservatory .
Nikolay Petrovich Sergeyev’s repertoire included works by Russian and foreign composers. Under the direction of Nikolay Sergeev, for the first time, the fifth, eighth, ninth and twelfth symphonies of Dmitry Shostakovich , some works by A.I. Khachaturian and N. Ya. Myaskovsky were performed for a brass band.
Nikolai Petrovich toured abroad. The orchestra conducted by N. P. Sergeev in 1960, with great success, performed in front of the soldiers of the Czechoslovak army and residents of the cities of Czechoslovakia. In 1972, a separate Indicative Orchestra of the USSR Ministry of Defense performed in Paris at the First International Festival of Military Orchestras. The orchestra was conducted by: Major General N. Nazarov, Colonel Nikolai Petrovich Sergeev and Lieutenant Colonel V. Dulsky.
In 1973, a separate Indicative Orchestra of the USSR Ministry of Defense again traveled to France. He performed with concerts in the cities of Rouen , Bordeaux , Orange , Brest , Avignon , Aix-en-Provence , Nice , Saints , Arcachon , etc. For television, a recording of a concert program of the orchestra in the city of Bordeaux was made . The orchestra was conducted by honored artists of the RSFSR, Colonel N. P. Sergeev, and Lieutenant Colonel V. Dulsky, Major General N. Nazarov, and Senior Lieutenant S. Surovtsev.
Sergeev Nikolai Petrovich died in 2007 .
