Story
The film tells the story of the first weeks at the court of Louis XIV of the young German princess Elizabeth Charlotte of Palatinate . Liselotte lives in the castle of his father, Elector of the Palatinate Charles I Ludwig , distinguished by his stinginess. She enjoys complete freedom in the castle, behaves like a tomboy, feeds pigs and removes manure. All the suitors who came to her to woo, she plays and rejects.
Until one day he receives an order from the king of France himself to become the wife of his brother, the duke Philip I of Orleans. The story of the king’s order is brought to the Palatinate by the girl’s aunt. She does not explain such an unexpected choice of the king, but explains to her niece that she will become the second lady of France, after the queen.
The girl is brought to Paris, but it turns out that her husband loves another woman and agreed to marry only under the pressure of his brother-king.
