Yitzhak de Laat ( Dutch: Itzhak de Laat ; born June 13, 1994 , Leeuwarden , Friesland ) is a Dutch short-track player , three-time winner of the European Short Track Championships 2015 , 2017 and 2018 , as well 2017 World Short Track Championship [1] [2] .

Sports career

Yitzhak de Laat was born in Leeuwarden, province of Friesland. Trained from the age of eight at the base of the Trias Shorttrack club under the supervision of Mark Scheepstra. In his free time he is engaged in painting [3] .

De Laat won his first gold during a performance at the 2017 European Short Track Championships in the Italian city ​​of Turin . At the 5000m relay race, Dutch skaters won 6: 56.809 with gold medals ahead of rivals from Russia (6: 56.889 - 2nd place) and Italy (7: 00.168 - 3rd place) [4] .

De Laat won another gold medal in his asset at the 2018 European Short Track Championships in the German city ​​of Dresden . At the 5000m relay, the Dutch skaters won 6: 36.198 with gold medals, ahead of rivals from Russia (6: 36.273 - 2nd place) and Hungary (6: 36.348 - 3rd place) [5] [6]
