Kondratyuk Square is a square in the Zheleznodorozhny district of Novosibirsk , located at the junction of Dimitrov Avenue , Frunze and Narymskaya streets . Initially, there was a lake on the site of the square, which was drained in the 1930s.

Title
The square is named after Yuri Vasilyevich Kondartyuk , a scientist and one of the founders of astronautics [1] , who lived and worked in Novosibirsk on Sovetskaya Street 24 [ 19 ] in 1927-1930.
History
In 1907, the conductor of the railroad Zinovy Fyodorov at the corner of Vaganovskaya and Kabinetskaya streets near Lake Kruglym built a wooden structure and opened public bathhouses . The washing facility became in great demand, and already in 1909 Fedorov built a stone building for the baths.
In the 1930s, Round Lake was drained.
In 1955, in the northwestern part of the square, a 6-storey apartment house was built decorated with a cylindrical belvedere (Dimitrova Avenue, 17) [3] .
In 2001-2003, according to the design of Arthur Lotarev and Boris Turetsky, an 11-story building was built (19 Dimitrova Avenue), adjacent from the south to Dimitrov Avenue 17 [3] .
In 2013, the Fedorovskie baths were demolished in the eastern part of the square [3] .
Back in 2007, a small square in front of the Fedorovskiy baths was leased to the Moscow company Energostroy for the construction of a multi-storey building. The developer has fenced the area, cut down trees and dug a pit, but the construction has been frozen for a long time [4] . In June 2012, Governor Vasily Yurchenko called the developer “insolvent” and demanded that the area be vacated, and on the site of the construction site proposed to create a public garden. City Hall tried to terminate the lease agreement and liquidate the pit. However, in September 2012, the city authorities could not terminate the lease, as the arbitral tribunal rejected the claim. In August 2015, the director of Siberia Development bought a long-term construction site for the construction of a 24-storey building at the place of a pit [5] . In 2016, the construction of the facility began [6] .
