Hirosada Utagawa (Utagawa Hirosada / Jap. 歌 川 広 貞 ; 1810 - 1864 ) - master of Japanese prints, one of the leading masters of the Osaka school ukiyo-e mid-XIX century. The real name is Kyomaruya Shojiro. The disciple of Kunimasu Utagawa [1] .

Shojiro was a student of Kunisad Utagawa for a short time. It was from the last name of his hieroglyph that the pseudonym Sadakhiro was taken. In 1847, the artist changed the name of Sadakhiro, known at that time, not unknown to anyone Hirosado. The reason for this was the reforms carried out in the field of art , with the introduction of censorship and persecution according to the law. [2]
Hirosada Utagawa dedicated his creative life to the theme of the theater [1] . In the middle of the XIX century, after a short ban, the Kabuki Theater experienced the peak of its popularity. Initially, the artist performed bust portraits of actors who served as posters for performances. After he began to create and genre prints on the plots of theatrical productions. Over time, Hirosada became the leading master of the yakusya-e of the 1840s – 50s in Osaka [1] .
