Sokhta ( Osset. Sokhtæ , cargo. სოხთა ) - a village in the Caucasus , located in the Dzausky region of South Ossetia , which actually controls the village; according to the jurisdiction of Georgia - in the Java municipality .

Refers to the Kemult (Kemult) village administration in South Ossetia . ^[5]

Geography

The village is located on the left bank of the Patsa River, 10 km northwest of the Dzau district center and 0.5 km southwest of the village of Nizhny Kemulta (Kemulta).

Population

In 1987, 100 people lived in the village of Sokhta ^[6] . According to the 2015 census, the population is s. Sokhta was 41 residents ^[4] .
