Maroo Entertainment ( 마루 기획 ) is a South Korean record company and talent agency founded in 2007. It is a subsidiary of MBK Entertainment .

Supernova and BONUSBaby are working with the company, singers Kim Jong Guk and Park Ji Hoon ( Wanna One ), American singer and rapper Yuna Kim and actor Ha Sok Chin .

Content

History

In 2007, the six-member Supernova boy band debuted under the label Maroo Entertainment. The group was formed by Mnet Media in 2006, but then moved to Maroo Entertainment.

In 2012, former member of the SeeYa group, Kim Yong-ji signed a contract with the label. In 2014, Maroo Entertainment released the girls group of four 1PS members, which was disbanded in 2015.

Former LPG member Han Young and actor Ha Suk Chin signed their contracts with the company in 2015.

In August 2015, Maroo Entertainment released the women's group myB. On October 21, 2015, Maroo Entertainment announced that singer Kim Jung Guk had signed a contract with the company. ^[one]

In December 2016, Maroo Entertainment announced that the myB group was dissolved and that the debut of the BONUSBaby female group with myB members Moon Hee and Ha Young is planned in January 2017. ^[2]

On December 28, 2016, American singer Yuna Kim signed a contract with the company. ^[3]

On June 14, 2017, Maroo Entertainment confirmed previous reports that Produce 101 reality season 2 trainers Park Ji Hoon had already signed an official label deal. Maroo Entertainment said: "We already have a contract. Since we are a small company, we draw up contracts even with our trainees. This is a standard contract for a period of 7 years." ^[four]
