Biography

Born on January 25, 1936 in the village of Kluki, Tetievsky district, Kiev region . Father, an accountant at a state farm in the Luhansk region, was repressed in 1937, his further fate is unknown [4] .

In 1953 he graduated from high school in Oratov, Vinnytsia region [4] and entered the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Kiev State University named after T. Shevchenko , graduating in 1958. In 1957 he was a representative from students of Kiev at the VI World Youth Festival in Moscow [4] . In 1962 he defended his thesis on “Oscillations of plates and gently sloping shells supported by stiffeners” [1] (scientific adviser is Corresponding Member of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences Polozhy G. M. [4] ). In 1971 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "Numerical methods for solving problems of the theory of oscillations of plates and shells."

Since 1962 he taught at the Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Physics. In 1963-1964, he taught at the Mongolian State University under the scientific exchange program [4] .

After the founding of the faculty of cybernetics in 1969, he headed the new department of modeling complex systems, from 1977 to 1984 he was dean of this faculty.

December 26, 1979 became a corresponding member of the NAS of Ukraine .

At the Faculty of Radiophysics KNU taught the standard course "Methods of Mathematical Physics".

During 1992-1997 headed the expert council on informatics and cybernetics of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine, was a member of the editorial boards of many scientific journals [4] .

He died on December 25, 1999 [2] , was buried in Kiev at the Baykovsky cemetery .

Scientific activity

Research interests include numerical and analytical methods for studying spectral problems for equations of mathematical physics, elasticity theory, theory of plates and shells.

The main scientific results obtained:

  • founded and justified the numerical-analytical method for solving the spectral problems of mathematical physics, mechanics, elasticity theory;
  • developed methods for solving urgent problems of applied mathematics, in particular, the problems of vibration and stability of elastic plates and shells, reinforced by stiffeners, shells with liquid, multilayer plates and shells [4] .

The author of more than 110 scientific papers, including monographs [4] :

  • "Fundamentals of control theory": Scientific. allowance. - K. , 1975.
  • “Numerical solution of dynamic problems of the theory of plates and shells.” - K. , 1976.
  • “Methods and algorithms for solving optimization problems.” - K. , 1983.
  • “Structural and parametric optimization and stability of beam dynamics.” - K. , 1985.

Recognition and Rewards

He was awarded 11 prizes and state awards, among which [4] :

  • Prize to them. M. Ostrovsky Central Committee of the LKSMU (1970);
  • Prize "For the best scientific work" of the Higher School of Ukraine (1983);
  • medal “For Valiant Labor” (1979);
  • medal “In memory of the 1500th anniversary of Kiev” (1982);
  • medal “For long-term conscientious work” (1987);
  • the honorary title "Honored Worker of Higher School of the Ukrainian SSR" (1989 [4] , according to other sources, 1984 [5] );
  • Order of the Badge of Honor (1986);
  • Order of Merit, III degree (1999) [5] and others.
