Biography
He studied at a primary school in Viru-Jaagupi (1932-1938), at the Johvi school (1938-1941), at the gymnasium in Rakvere (1940-1941), the Tallinn Theater School (1942-1946), and the Leningrad Theater Institute named after A.N. Ostrovsky (1950-1951).
From 1940 to 1947 he worked in the State Youth Theater, in 1948-1952 he was an actor in the Tallinn State Drama Theater and at the same time danced in the Estonia Theater.
Creator (1952) and artistic director (1952-1980) of the Estonian State Puppet and Youth Theater (NUKU).

A memorial plaque by F. Veike (sculptor Tauno Kangro ) was installed on Lai Street in Tallinn [3] [4]
He was buried in the Pärnamäe Cemetery .
