Serafim Porfiryevich Myshevsky (April 5, 1912, the village of Medvezhye, Bratslovsky district, Podolsk province , February 6, 1966) was a Soviet sea captain, captain-tutor of the Far Eastern Shipping Company .

Biography
Serafim Porfiryevich Myshevsky was born on April 5, 1905 in the village of Medvezhye, Nemirovsky volost, Bratslovsky district, Podolsk province, in the family of priest Porfiry Alekseevich Myshevsky (1875-1937) and housewives Olga Trofimovov Myshevskaya (1879-1960) [1] .
In 1914–1918, he studied at the State High School in the town of Nemirov, Podolsk Province . In 1918-1920 he studied at the State High School in the city of Balta, Podolsk Province . In the years 1920-1922 - student Profagroshkoly city of Balta .
In 1923-1928 he studied at the Odessa College of Waterways . During his studies, he sailed as a deck apprentice on the sailing ship "Red Ghost" (1925) and on the steamer "Transbalt" (1926-1927) [2] .
In the crew of the steamship "Vaclav Vorovsky" arrived at work in the Far Eastern Shipping Company [2] . In 1929–1930 - Red Army man of the 6th Khabarovsk rifle regiment, Blagoveshchensk [1] . 1930-1931 - second assistant captain of the ship "Stavropol". In 1931–1934, the senior assistant to the captain on the steamers of the Far Eastern Shipping Company : "Stavropol", "Red Partisan", "Dvina" [2] . In 1938, for the exemplary performance of combat missions during the period of armed conflict between the USSR and Japan at Lake Hassan, he was awarded the Order of the Red Star . [3]
In 1934-1948, the captain on the steamships "Dvina", "Tiflis", "Kura", "Igarka", "Minsk", "Nakhodka", "Kronstadt", Vladivostok [1] .
In 1941–1945, in the capacity of captain of the steamers Igarka and Minsk, he participated in the transportation of Lend-Lease between the ports of the USSR and the allies [4] .
In 1948-1951 he worked as a captain-mentor of the Far Eastern Shipping Company . [5] In 1951–1955, he was captain of the Vyacheslav Molotov turbo-electric ship . According to the results of work in the first quarter of 1953, the crew received the pennant USSR Council of Ministers and the first All-Union Prize [6] .
In November 1956, Serafim Porfirevich Myshevsky was appointed captain-mentor for the Soviet Union steam- powered ship. From March until the end of May 1957, the "Soviet Union" under the command of captain Artyukh and captain-mentor Myshevsky rounded Africa and came to Vladivostok. From May 1957 to 1965, Myshevsky worked as a ship captain. Under his command, the Soviet Union worked on the express line from Vladivostok to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky until 1962 [7] [8] [9] .
In 1962-1966 he was the captain of the Okhotsk diesel-electric ship [10] [11] . In October-December 1962, together with the crew of this vessel, Captain Myshevsky took part in the secret operation "Anadyr" when the ships of the USSR Marine Fleet carried out the transfer of troops and equipment to the territory of the Cuban Republic during the "Caribbean crisis" [12] .
He died on February 6, 1966 .

Memory
On May 3, 1967, by order of the Minister of the Navy of the USSR, the Amguema -type diesel-electric ship under construction at the Kherson Shipyard was given the name “Captain Myshevsky”. It was commissioned in April 1971 [15] . Decommissioned in 1994.
In 2014, the personal archive of Captain Myshevsky was transferred by his daughter, Galina Serafimovna Myshevskaya, to the collection of the Museum of the Navy [16] .
