The 2017 World Tank Biathlon Championship was held from July 29 to August 12 at the Alabino training and tactical complex. Teams of 19 countries from Azerbaijan , Angola , Armenia , Belarus , Venezuela , Zimbabwe , India , Iran , Kazakhstan , Kyrgyzstan , China , Kuwait , Laos , Mongolia , Nicaragua , Russia , Serbia , Tajikistan , Uganda took part in the competition. The Indian team participated in their technology, on the T-90 Bhishma tanks. Belarus performed on its T-72 tanks, which underwent a deep modernization. Also traditionally, China took part in its tanks, this year on the TYPE 96B . Teams from Laos and Uganda debuted at the World Cup. [1] [2]

In 2017, some changes were made to the rules. For violation of the technique of overcoming obstacles (hitting a mine, knocking down restrictive poles, etc.) instead of calculating penalty points, penalty time areas were introduced on which the crew that committed the violation comply with standard No. 1 “Inspection of the vehicle.”
