In 1906, the OVV club was disbanded, having existed for only four years, and in September of the same year, Chris became a member of the Ajax club from Amsterdam [3] [4] . At that time, Amsterdam played in the second class of the Netherlands. Earlier in August, his teammate striker Jakob Fredrik Scharpff [3] joined the team, and a little later two more players - defender Gerrit Fortens [5] and goalkeeper Andris Bottelir [6] .

In the championship of the second class, “Ajax” could not repeat last year’s result and took second place [18] .
In September 1909, Cammeyer was called up to the Amsterdam national team - five more Ajax players were also called into the team [19] . On September 19, the Amsterdam national team held a friendly match in Belgium with the national team of Brussels, which consisted entirely of players from the local Union club. Brussels won with a score of 5: 1 - the author of the only goal of the guests was Pete van den Brookke .

On October 31, Chris played for the West team [21] , which was mainly composed of players from the national team, although initially Van Deynhoven [22] was supposed to play against the East team, but he did not appear for the match [21] . The meeting between the teams took place in Haarlem and ended in a draw 3: 3 - Cammeyer, who played on the right flank with Mannes Franken , was one of the best players on the field following the match [23] . In November, Chris was on the extended list of the Netherlands national team for a match with the amateur team of England [24] , but was not on the final list for a trip to London.
