A chain of gendarmes along the ridge of Manaragi ( Subpolar Ural , 2013)
"Gendarme" is the slang name of acute-angled rocky peaks with steep slopes up to several tens of meters high, which are located on the ridges of mountain ranges in the vicinity of the main peak [1] . The presence of gendarmes can significantly complicate climbing and make climbing along the ridge difficult [2] .
