Biography

Born February 19, 1981 in Rostov-on-Don in the family of doctors [1] [2] .

At the age of ten he was the soloist with the Rostov Symphony Orchestra, at eighteen received his first nominal scholarship from Mstislav Rostropovich [1] [2] .

He graduated from the Rostov State Conservatory and graduate school in piano from Professor Sergey Osipenko [3] . He studied composition in the class of Professor Leonid Klinichev . After graduating from the Conservatory, he studied at the Salzburg Mozarteum under Professor Alexei Lyubimov and at the Berlin University of the Arts under Professor Pascal Devouyon.

Winner of more than sixty international competitions and prestigious music awards [3] . In 2013, he was awarded the gold medal of the President of the Italian Republic for achievements in the field of culture and art.

Alexander Yakovlev is a visiting professor at educational institutions in Cincinnati (USA), Takamatsu (Japan), Benasque (Spain), artistic director of the summer academy and the festival “Beyond the piano” in Benasque [4] . He is the founder and director of the summer academy and festival “ Grand Piano in Palace ” in St. Petersburg .

He released an album with works by Sergei Prokofiev on the Sonore Records label in Milan [4] .

Took part in the festivals "Great Masters of Zaragoza" in Spain, Mayfest in Scotland, "Faces of Modern Pianism" in St. Petersburg, Beethoven Festival in Bonn, was awarded the prize of the best performer of the festival "Musical Olympus" in St. Petersburg [5] .

Alexander Yakovlev won the TOP 30 award. The most famous people of Rostov-on-Don in the Music nomination in November 2017.

He has performed with the Berlin Philharmonic orchestras, the orchestra of Romanian Switzerland, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra, the EF Svetlanov State Orchestra of Russia and others.

He has toured extensively around the world in such venues as Carnegie Hall in New York, Victoria Hall in Geneva, Berlin Philharmonic Hall, Moscow Philharmonic Hall , Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo and other prestigious scenes, often performing before the public in Russian outback [1] .
