DescriptionLeaves are sword-shaped, green, with transverse light stripes, almost vertically standing, in the amount of 6–8 pcs in a socket, up to 120 cm long and up to 7 cm wide; at the top is a small cap with a non-barbed tip [2] .
Inflorescence is a brush. The flowers are greenish-white, fragrant, up to 4 cm long [2] .
Dissemination and ecologyThe natural range is west of Central Africa ( Democratic Republic of Congo and Nigeria ) [3] .
Meaning and applicationIt is used primarily as an ornamental plant, outdoors in countries with a warm climate, or in rooms for regions with a cool climate. A popular houseplant, due to low lightness and tolerance for irregular irrigation. Prefers dry air and soil. Rarely required transplant. [four]
According to NASA's “ Clean Air ” research (the “Laurentii” variety was used), the plant has the ability to actively absorb carbon dioxide and a number of toxic substances from humans by emitting oxygen , and does this at night (making it recommended to keep it in bedrooms). According to studies, 6–8 plants are required for one person at a belt-high [5] .
