Fedor Vasilievich Antonov ( 1904 - 1994 ) - Russian and Soviet painter , graphic artist, fabric artist. Teacher , professor (since 1957). Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1966), People's Artist of the RSFSR (1975).

Biography

He studied painting in 1916-1921. in the Tambov art college - State free art workshops at N. M. Shevchenko, in 1922-1929. in Vkhutemas - later at VKhUTEIN in Moscow at the painting and textile faculties of A. E. Arkhipov, D. A. Shcherbinovsky , S. V. Gerasimov .

“I attended Mayakovsky’s performances with pleasure, met with Yesenin, visited Gilyarovsky , knew Nesterov , Kuprin , Petrov-Vodkin , Konchalovsky , worked with Meyerhold , was friends with Deineka, ”

During his studies in 1925, he created drawings for fabrics and wallpapers (since 1927).

Member of OMAHRR (Youth Association of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia).

Wife - Lyubov Nikolaevna Silich (1907-1991), theater artist.

He died in 1994 in Moscow . He was buried at the Vagankovsky cemetery .

Creativity

The author of landscapes, portraits, thematic compositions.

In the late 1920s - early 1930s. repeatedly went on creative business trips, visited Central Asia, the Caucasus , the enterprise of Grozny, in the Crimea . In 1931 he participated in the creation of the “Work Settlement” panel based on a sketch by A. A. Deineka for the building of the People's Commissariat of Land in Moscow.

Since 1928 - participant of exhibitions (1st exhibition OMAKHHR in Moscow). A member of the Society of Easel Workers (1927-1932), and after the collapse of this society, in 1932 joined the Isobrigade, then became a member of the Moscow Union of Artists. He exhibited his works at the exhibitions: “Household Soviet Textiles” (1928), “Art to the Masses” (1929; AHR), reporting works of artists sent to industrial and collective farm construction areas (1931, 1932), monumental and pictorial panels (1932) in Moscow, “Artists of the RSFSR for XV years” in Leningrad , Moscow (1932-1934), exhibitions of Soviet art in Japan, Sweden, Denmark, Bulgaria, Germany and others. In 1934, 1954, 1964 he held his personal exhibitions in Moscow.
