Neohorion [3] [4] , Neohori [5] ( Greek Νεοχώριον [6] ή Νεοχώρι ) is a small town in Greece . Located at an altitude of 115 meters above sea level [1] , 7 kilometers northwest of Farcadon , 38 kilometers west of Larisa and 19 kilometers north-east of Trikala and 235 kilometers northwest of Athens . Included in the community (dim) Farcadon in the peripheral unit of Trikale in the periphery of Thessaly . The population of 2357 inhabitants according to the 2011 census [2] . An area of 40.245 square kilometers [1] .

In 1981 it was renamed Ihaliya ( Greek Οιχαλία [2] ).
4 kilometers south of the Neohorion is the national road 6 Trikala - Larisa, part of the European route E92 .
History
The ancient city of Echalia is referred to by Homer as the city of King Eurythos [7] . It was destroyed by the Thessalians around 1000-800 BC. e.
