Paraska ( Praskovya ) Vasilyevna Korolyuk ( Ukrainian Paraska Vasilyevna Korolyuk , known as Baba Paraska ; May 3, 1939 - November 26, 2010 [2] [3] ) - an active participant in the Orange Revolution and further political events in Ukraine on the side of the “orange” political forces . Baba Paraska is often called the symbol of the "Orange Revolution" [4] [5] . By a decision of the congress of the Our Ukraine party, in March 2007 it was accepted into this party [6] .

Biography
She was born on May 5, 1939 in the village of Koshilovtsy ( Poland at that time; nowadays - the Zaleshchytsky district of the Ternopil region of Ukraine [7] ), she lived in the village of Dorogichevka until her death. She graduated from seven classes [8] .
For 30 years she worked as a milkmaid, 12 years was on earnings in Kazakhstan . She was the mother of three daughters. As the correspondent of the newspaper “ Ukraina Moloda ” wrote: often even when the vast majority of women would talk about children or share recipes, she begins to emotionally discuss topics related to politics. The woman became especially active in this regard after the Orange Revolution. “Our mother is generally fighting by nature, whoever you want to tell the truth in the eyes,” says Mariyka’s daughter. - And he carefully follows the news, and politically “catches us” all of us. <...> We tried to keep her from going to Maidan because we were worried that something bad would not happen, because she was already 67 years old. And where there, I didn’t listen! Moreover, she stayed on that Maidan from the first to the last day, and where it was hotter, there she was! ” [9] .
On the eve of the 2004 Presidential elections, I traveled a lot in the villages of central and western Ukraine, campaigning for presidential candidate Viktor Yushchenko . For active participation in the "Orange Revolution" she was awarded the sign "Guard of the Revolution" and the Order of Princess Olga of the III degree ( 2005 ) [10] . In 2005 she joined the party "Pora", and, a year later - in "Our Ukraine". Yushchenko personally read out her application for entry from the rostrum of the congress.
I am personally acquainted with the leaders of the Orange Revolution Viktor Yushchenko, Yulia Tymoshenko and other politicians. In 2005 - 2006, she repeatedly tried to reconcile these politicians, for which she periodically visited Kiev .
In August 2006, STB showed footage where Baba Paraska with a megaphone insults former Ukrainian President Leonid Kravchuk using foul language [11] [12] .
On December 10, 2008, Parasku was detained by employees of the State Guard Department, who ensure the safety of President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko. The incident occurred right during the ceremony of laying wreaths at the monument to Vyacheslav Chernovol - the “spiritual father” of Ukrainian democracy. Employees of the Office of State Protection (UGO) detained her and brought her to the police. Baba Paraska later said that she was beaten, after which she was hospitalized [13] [14] .
In 2008, she announced her intention to publish a book of her poems [8] .
After the 2010 elections, which Viktor Yanukovych won, began to take an active part in the actions of the new opposition [13] .
Died at about 9:30 p.m. on November 26, 2010. [15] In memory of Parasky Korolyuk on the Maidan in the center of Kiev, a huge cross of funeral candles was laid out [16] .
