Biography
A native of Cotbridge , Lanarkshire , at the beginning of his football career, played for a number of Scottish amateur clubs [1] . In the 1925/26 season, he played for the Dundee United professional club. In 1928, he again began to play at a professional level for Airdrionians , where he spent four seasons. In April 1932 he moved to the English club Manchester United . He made his debut for the club on April 23, 1932 in the Second Division match against Bradford City [2] . He scored his first goal for United on January 7, 1933 in a game against Southampton [3] . For three incomplete seasons, United played 27 matches and scored 4 goals [4] .
In August 1934, he became a Tranmere Rovers player [1] , where he spent two seasons. Later he played for Coventry City and Plymouth Argyle , after which he ended his career in connection with the outbreak of war .
