Kupavna (station)

Kupavna - the railway station of the Gorky direction of the Moscow railway in the Bogorodsky urban district of the Moscow region . It is part of the Moscow-Kursk center for the organization of work of the railway stations DTSS-1 of the Moscow Directorate of Traffic Management. To the south of the station, along it lies the border of the Bogorodsky urban district with the Kupavna microdistrict of the city of Balashikha (until 2004, a dacha village). To the east of the station is the Vishnyakovskiye dacha microdistrict of the city of Elektrougli of Bogorodsky city ..

The station is located 30 km from the Kursk station , the travel time from the station is about 42 minutes [2] .

History

The station was founded in 1898 and had the name of the commodity “Post of the 27th verst” of the Nizhny Novgorod railway , later - “Kupavna Post”, and since 1916 simply “Kupavna”. The name of the station was given in the factory village of Staraya Kupavna , which she was serving at that time.

Infrastructure

Kupavna intermediate station, assigned the second class. There are two passenger platforms at the station, connected only by flooring across the tracks. Not equipped with turnstiles . South of the platform is the Kupavna microdistrict. At the station there are 2 main tracks, 3 pick-and-drop. A connecting branch with 3 sections of the Noginsky PZhT departs to the north. According to the design of the Moscow-Kazan high-speed railway route , from the Kupavna station, the HSR line going from the Kursk station within the land allotment of the existing railway will branch to Noginsk and pass in a new, specially allocated corridor [3] .

Railroad accidents

On September 5, 1975, the electric train ER1-219 , following the Zakharovo - Moscow route, passing the turnout in the even throat of the Kupavna station, collided with the lateral part 8 of the freight train car, traveling in the opposite direction. The freight train tore apart, its wagons began to run into wagons of an electric train. As a result of the crash, 18 people died, 35 were injured. [four]
