Tachibana Gintiyo ( Japanese 立 花 花 千代 ; September 23, 1569 - November 30, 1602 ) is the head of the Japanese Tachibana clan during the Sengoku period . She was the daughter of Tachiban Dosetsu , an influential vassal of the Otomo clan (at that time they were rivals with the Shimazu clan ). Since Dosetsu had no sons, he ordered Gintiyo to become the head of the family after his death. The six-year-old Gintiyo led the clan in difficult times. She trained girls to handle swords. Gintiyo married Tachibana Muneishige, who was adopted by the family and led the Dosetsu family.
