The Bell (from the English - “The Bell”) is a Russian-language online publication and newsletter [1] . It was founded on June 6, 2017 by the journalist Elizabeth Osetinskaya [2] .

History
The “The Bell” project (thebell.io) [3] [4] was created by former RBC chief editor, former editor of Vedomosti and the Russian version of Forbes, Elizaveta Osetinskaya, during an internship at Stanford University in the USA under the Knight Journalism Fellowship program in 2016-2017 years [5] . According to Ossetian, the project is an experiment of the program [6] . The Bell is an email newsletter startup and online publication . The project was created by the type of Axios , The Information, Finimize and The Skimm. The publication specializes in business news. The chief editor is Irina Malkova [7] . The project was launched with the money of friends of the Ossetian [8] . The publication has 7 employees who previously worked at RBC , Republic , Reuters [9] . The Bell partnered with Setka on technical issues [10] .
As part of the publication, there is an author’s project of Elizabeth Osetinskaya “Russian Norms!” With a series of interviews with entrepreneurs of Russian origin who have achieved success abroad [11] .
Even before the launch, The Bell began to be compared with the pre-revolutionary newspaper " Bell " [12] [1] .
Audience
As of December 2017, The Bell's mailing list is 15,000 people per day [10] . As of April 2019, the official channel on Telegram has 24.3 thousand subscribers [13] .
