Biography

Anatoly Vladimirovich was born on January 3, 1914 in the family of a zemstvo doctor. In 1936 he graduated from the Rostov Medical Institute and entered the graduate school of the Department of Pathological Anatomy, led by Professor Sh. I. Krinitsky [1] .

In 1939 he defended his thesis "Pathological anatomy of brain abscesses."

From 1939 to 1940, Anatoly Vladimirovich participated in the Soviet-Finnish war .

In 1940 A.V. Smolyannikov became an assistant at the Department of Pathological Anatomy (Head - Prof. A.N. Chistovich) of the Kuibyshev Military Medical Academy , from 1942 he worked as an inspector in the Central Pathological Anatomy Laboratory (CPAL) of the Soviet Army (in 1950-1962 years the head of the laboratory). Work in the CPAL during the Great Patriotic War was associated with numerous and lengthy business trips of A.V. Smolyannikov to the front. During the war, special attention was paid to the study of military injury, its complications and the causes of death on the battlefield.

In 1948, Anatoly Vladimirovich defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Pathological anatomy of gunshot bone fractures in the early phase of their course” (the work was awarded the 1st prize at the competition of the editorial board of labor “Experience of Soviet medicine in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”).

In 1953-1962 led the pathology department of the Moscow Research Institute of Emergency Medicine. N.V. Sklifosovsky .

Since 1962, A.V. Smolyannikov headed the Department of Pathological Anatomy of the Central Institute for the Advancement of Physicians , since 1980, a consultant to the same department and head of the pathology department of the Central Clinical Hospital M3 of the RSFSR .

Anatoly Vladimirovich Smolyannikov published 170 scientific papers. Author and editor of a number of monographs and collective works.

Under the guidance of A. Smolyannikov, 10 doctoral and 25 master's theses were prepared and defended.
