Biography

The son of a lieutenant colonel. A native of Voronezh province. He was educated at the Bialystok Real School, where he graduated from the full course.

In 1900 he graduated from the Mikhailovsky Artillery School , from where he was released as second lieutenant to the Separate Horse-Mountain Artillery Division. November 28, 1901 was transferred to the 8th horse-artillery battery [1] . He was promoted to lieutenant on August 25, 1902 , to staff captains on September 1, 1906 He graduated from the 2nd course of the Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff in the 1st category and continued to serve in artillery. On March 10, 1912 he was transferred to the Caucasian equestrian artillery division [2] . He was promoted to captain on June 30, 1912 [3] .

He entered the First World War with the Caucasian equestrian artillery division. For military distinction was awarded several orders. On March 7, 1917, he was appointed commander of the 3rd Battery of the Caucasian Horse-Mountain Artillery Division, and on May 29, 1917, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel “ for excellence in service, ” with approval in the post [4] .

In the Civil War he participated in the White movement in the south of Russia . Until November 1918, he taught in the Crimea, and then joined the Volunteer Army . From November 24, 1918, Colonel Ivanovsky was the chief of staff of the Mountain Equestrian Division. September 7, 1919 transferred to the General Staff with the rights of release in 1914. On October 9, 1919 he was appointed chief of staff of the Ossetian cavalry division. Then he was the chief of staff of the fortified Perekop district, and in the Russian army , the chief of staff of the 2nd Cavalry Division. He was evacuated from the Crimea by transport "Ayu-Dag." In Gallipoli - chief of staff of the 2nd Cavalry Brigade.

In exile in Yugoslavia. He served as a border guard. He was an educator, company commander and teacher of the Crimean Cadet Corps, then the First Russian Cadet Corps (1928-1929). Then he served as a teacher in a Russian real gymnasium in Hrastovets. In 1931, he headed the group of the Society of Gallipoli in the White Church, was a member of the Society of Officers of the General Staff.

During the Second World War he served in the Russian Corps . From October 31, 1941, he was an inspector of classes at military schools of the 1st Regiment, and from May 28, 1942, he was the commander of hundreds of directorates of the same regiment. From December 6, 1942 he was transferred to the 1st battalion of the 2nd regiment (with the rank of lieutenant), from July 1, 1944 he was appointed adjutant of the 2nd battalion of the same regiment (with the rank of lieutenant). From October 20, 1944 he was appointed adjutant of the 3rd battalion of the Consolidated Regiment, from February 3, 1945 - adjutant of the 5th regiment, in which position he was promoted to Hauptmann. After the surrender of the corps, he was the director of the Russian gymnasium in the Kellerberg and Parsh camps. Then he moved to the USA, served as an inspector of classes at the Russian gymnasium of San Francisco. He was a member of the Society of Russian Veterans of the Great War, in San Francisco organized a department of the Union of ranks of the Russian Corps.

He died in 1967 in San Francisco. He was buried in the Serbian cemetery in Colma. His widow Margarita Anatolyevna (1884-1973) was buried there.
