History
Compared to the previous season, the top three winners did not change: Dynamo Kyiv, Shakhtar Donetsk and Krivbass Kryvyi Rih, respectively, won the first places in the standings, and Dynamo did not lose a single match of the season. According to the results of the championship, the Ivano-Frankivsk Carpathian, Odessa Chernomorets and Kirovograd Zvezda left the major league. The Kirovograd team set an anti-record of the Ukrainian championships without winning a single game. It was decided to reduce the major league to 14 teams, so the Alchevsk Steel only joined the elite division.
