Biography
He was the son of Hetum of Negir, the nephew of Hetum II , king of Armenia. Constantine ascended the throne after the death of his cousin Constantine III , on whose widow, Mary, the daughter of Oshin from Korikos , he married. Constantine is usually considered a representative of the Lusignan dynasty.
Constantine entered into an alliance with Peter I of Cyprus , offering him the port and castle of Korikos . After the death of Peter in 1369, Constantine tried to conclude an agreement with the Sultan of Egypt . The barons were unhappy with such a policy, fearing the annexation of the Sultan, and in 1373 Constantine was killed. After his death, he was succeeded by his distant relative Levon V , who became the last king of Cilician Armenia.
