Biography
Born December 10, 1882 in Ulyanovka. In 1899 he entered the Syzran Real School , which he graduated in 1902, in addition to this, he studied short-term courses at PSU , Sorbonne and College de France . In the mid-1900s, he joined the revolutionary movement, for which he was expelled abroad and settled in France, where in 1906 he got a job at the Turgenev Library in Paris, but was soon fired after learning about the revolutionary past in the same year. In 1911, he was allowed to return to his homeland, he settled in Moscow and from 1911 to 1917 managed the library of Z. A. Galinovskaya, which served exclusively students of higher women's courses and all students in Moscow. In 1917 he moved to Ivanovo , where in 1918 he got a job at the Fundamental Library at the Ivanovo-Ascension Polytechnic Institute , was a teacher at the Institute of Public Education . From the mid-1930s to the time of his death, he worked in the RCP .
He died on June 14, 1942 in Tara.

The main scientific works are devoted to the development of library science.

- The author of the first in the history of the USSR practical guidelines for cataloging and applying the decimal classification.
