The United Democratic Movement (UDM) is a center-left , social democratic political party in South Africa.

Its founders and leaders were:
- a former prominent leader of the National Party, Rulph Meyer (who left the ODD in 2006 and moved to the ANC, where he was offered a position),
- General Bantu Holomisa, former leader of the African National Congress and head of Bantustan Transkei ,
- former member of the ANC Executive Committee John Taylor.
The party stands on an anti- separatist platform, supports the ideology of multiculturalism and individualism , supported by strong moral foundations, both in the social sphere and in the economy .
Along with the much larger and more influential Democratic Alliance and other small parties, the ODD is currently part of the ruling coalitions of the Municipality of Nelson Mandela Bay and Johannesburg .
