Xu Yixin

Xu Yixin ( Chinese 徐 以 新 ; November 14, 1911 - December 30, 1994 ) - Party and statesman of China. Graduate of the Communist University of Workers of China. Member of a group of 28 Bolsheviks . Known as the 29th Bolshevik for his deviations from the party line. He changed his political position, being between the left and right wing of the party, so the group of “28 Bolsheviks” is sometimes called the group “28 and a half of the Bolsheviks” [1] . Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Albania (1954-1957), Norway (1958-1962), Syria (1962-1965) and Pakistan (1979-1982).

Biography

Xu Yixin was born on November 14, 1911 in the Chinese province of Zhejiang . Participated in the Shanghai armed uprising. Received higher education in the USSR. He studied in Moscow at the Communist University of Workers of China named after Sun Yat-sen . In Moscow, he joined the group of 28 Bolsheviks. For his political vacillations to the left and right of the party line, the group is sometimes called "28 and a half Bolsheviks."

In 1930, he joined the Chinese Communist Party . After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he worked as a consultant in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In August 1952, participated in the work of the Chinese delegation to the USSR, led by Zhou Enlai . He attended the meeting of Zhou Enlai with Stalin .

Later he was appointed Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Albania (1954-1957), Norway (1958-1962), Syria (1962-1965) and Pakistan (1979-1982). Since January 1966, he served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of China [2] .

In 1983, Xu was elected a member of the Standing Committee of the 6th National Committee of the People’s Political Consultative Council of China (CPPCC), then for five years he was elected a member of the Seventh Standing Committee of the CPPCC.

Xu Yixin passed away on December 30, 1994.
