Lesley Anne Glover ( Lesley Anne Glover ; born April 19, 1956, Arbroath , Scotland) is a Scottish scientist, biologist [3] . He is a professor at Aberdeen University and, since 2015, his vice rector. Principal Scientific Advisor to Scotland (2006-2011), Principal Scientific Advisor to the President of the European Commission (2012-2014), the first in both of these posts. Member of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (2005) and was elected its president for a three-year term starting in April 2018 [4] . Member of the Royal Society of London (2016) and honorary member of the European Academy (2014) [5] . In 2013, the BBC named her 19th among the most influential women in the UK [3] .

Biography
She graduated with honors from the University of Edinburgh (Bachelor of Biochemistry), where she studied in 1974-1978. Then she studied at Cambridge Royal College , where she received a master's degree (1979) and a Ph.D. in molecular biology (1981).
Since 1983 he has been teaching at the University of Aberdeen , originally a lecturer in biochemistry, since 2001 a professor and head of the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology.
