Biography
Born in the south of France - in Beziers. Representative of a family of artists. His brother Leon Faye (1826-1880) and son Gustave Faye (1865-1925) were also artists. Son is a well-known art collector and philanthropist .
The current Beziers Museum of Fine Arts is located at the Fabregat Hotel, which was bequeathed to the city by the Gustave Faye family.
He studied painting with Charles-Francois Daubigny . Known primarily as a landscape painter and master of still life .
