Biography
Andrei Sergeevich Franchenko was born on January 9, 1964 in Bratsk (Irkutsk Region). He studied at secondary schools No. 8 and 77. In 1988, he graduated from the Omsk State Institute of Physical Culture with a degree in Physical Education and Sports, qualifying as a Swimming Swimming Teacher. After that, he began to work as a teacher in the department of theory and methodology of swimming, where he taught the discipline "Professional and sports improvement." Currently, he is an acting professor of the department [1] .
In 1997, Franchenko defended his thesis on "Age-related differentiation of means of increasing speed capabilities in swimming for athletes 9-15 years old" [2] and received the degree of “ candidate of pedagogical sciences ”.
For many years, Andrey Sergeyevich has been the coach of the Russian national swimming team (with PODA).
Among his pupils:
- Dmitry Polin - champion of the 2004 Paralympic Games [3] ,
- Alexey Fomenkov - champion of the 2008 Paralympic Games,
- Alexander Makarov - European Champion.
In 2014, Andrei Sergeyevich participated in the Paralympic Torch Relay [4] .
