Michael Kevin Moore ( born Michael Kevin Moore ; born June 3, 1965 , Belfast , Northern Ireland ) is a British politician and Secretary of State for Scotland in the first office of David Cameron (2010-2013).

Biography
Born in 1965 in Northern Ireland, where his father served as an army chaplain. In 1970, the family moved to (County of Lanarkshire in Scotland), but attended in Perth , and after moving in 1981 to Jedborough School of Literacy . He studied politics and modern history at the University of Edinburgh . He joined the Liberal Democrats , worked in the office of MP , and since 1995, in the apparatus of a prominent liberal democrat, David Steele . In the Edinburgh company Coopers & Lybrand received the qualification of a licensed accountant ( chartered accountant ) [1] .
In 1997, he was first elected to the House of Commons, succeeding David Steele, Twittle, Ettrick and Lauderdale in the District. In 1999, he led the party’s election campaign in Scotland and, two years before the 2001 parliamentary elections, he covered the politics of liberal democrats in the field of transport, then he was moved to foreign policy issues. Belongs to the libertarian wing of the party, voted against the prohibitions on short-barreled weapons and hunting [2] .
In 2005, after the reorganization of the constituencies, he won in the districts of Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk with a result of 41.8%, and in 2010, 45.4% of the voters secured the support against 33.8% of the strongest rivals - conservative [ 3] .
On May 29, 2010, David Treas , Senior Secretary of the Treasury in the newly created first office of David Cameron , resigned, Scottish Secretary of State Danny Alexander was relocated to his vacant position, and he, in turn, was replaced by Michael Moore, who at that time was Deputy Scottish leader liberal democrats [4] .
On October 7, 2013, Michael Moore resigned and was replaced by Alistair Carmichael . Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg , deputy prime minister, explained that Moore received the briefcase at a critical time in the region’s relationship with other areas of the United Kingdom and met the challenges of the time with extraordinary art and efficiency. However, in the last year before the referendum on Scottish independence, a need arose for the application of a different kind of experience [5] .
In 2015, he suffered a crushing defeat in the elections, remaining with 10.3% in third place after John Lamont (19.8%) and the winner - candidate from the Scottish National Party, Calum Kerr (20.1%) [6] .
