Biography
Nikolai Ivanovich Podvalnyuk was born on July 23, 1848. By religion he was Orthodox [1] . In 1864 he graduated from the St. Petersburg Military Grammar School [2]
June 19, 1864 entered the service of the Russian Imperial Army . In 1867 he graduated from the 2nd Military Konstantinovsky School and the Nikolaev Engineering School , from which he was graduated from the 37th Yekaterinburg Infantry Regiment with seniority on July 17, 1867 with the rank of second lieutenant . September 13, 1868 he received seniority with the rank of warrant officer of the guard [1] , April 20, 1869 he received seniority with the rank of lieutenant of the guard, April 17, 1875 he received seniority with the rank of captain of the guard [2] .
He took part in the Russian-Turkish war , during which he was shell-shocked. April 16, 1878 he received seniority with the rank of captain of the guard, was renamed the lieutenant colonel of the army [2] . Then he served in the Bulgarian army . November 13, 1887 received seniority with the rank of colonel . From July 2, 1886 to March 3, 1894 he was commander of the 166th Infantry Reserve Regiment, and from March 3, 1894 to February 15, 1900 he was commander of the 48th Infantry Regiment of Odessa . In 1900, "for distinction" was promoted to major general , with seniority from February 15, 1900. From February 15, 1900 to October 6, 1903 he was the commander of the 2nd Brigade in the 44th Infantry Division , from October 6, 1903 to June 1, 1904 he was the head of the 61st Infantry Reserve Brigade, and from June 1, 1904 to 3 March 1906 was the commander of the 61st Infantry Division [1] .
He took part in the Russian-Japanese war . From March 3, 1906 to June 19, 1910 he was the head of the 41st Infantry Division . December 6, 1906 "for distinction" received seniority with the rank of lieutenant general . From June 19, 1910 to August 7, 1911 he was commander of the 5th Siberian Army Corps , and from August 7, 1911 to December 13, 1912 he was commander of the 11th Army Corps . December 6, 1912 received seniority and was promoted to rank of general from infantry . From December 13, 1912 [1] until 1917 [2] he was a member of the Alexander Committee on the Wounded .
Family
The brother of Nikolai Ivanovich, was Colonel Ivan Ivanovich Podvalnyuk. Nikolai Ivanovich was married twice, and as of 1901 had a daughter [2] .
