Yakov Yakovlevich Kostyuchenko (born June 1, 1942 , Ramenskoye ) is a Soviet and Russian kayak and canoe teacher. Honored Trainer of the USSR (1976).

Biography

Yakov Yakovlevich Kostyuchenko was born on June 1, 1942 in Ramensky, Moscow Region [1] . In 1961 he was awarded the title " Master of Sports of the USSR in kayaking and canoeing."

In 1969 he graduated from Smolensk State Institute of Physical Culture and began working as a coach. In 1974 he was awarded the title "Honored Trainer of the RSFSR", and in 1976 - "Honored Trainer of the USSR."

From 1977 to 1981 he worked as a coach of the USSR national kayaking and canoeing team. For many years he worked as a senior trainer and teacher of the kayaking and canoeing department of the Republican School of Olympic Reserve in Bronnitsy.

He taught at the Department of Theory and Methods of Swimming, Rowing and Equestrian Sports of the Moscow State Academy of Physical Culture , in 1989 he became an assistant professor [2] .

Since 2012, he has been a member of the Presidium of the All-Russian Kayaking and Canoeing Federation [3] .

He currently works as a trainer for the Russian women's team and the Center for Olympic Sports in the Moscow Region [4] [5] .

The highest results among the pupils of Yakov Yakovlevich achieved:

  • Alexander Degtyarev - Olympic champion in 1976, silver medalist of the 1974 World Cup [6] ,
  • Tatyana Korshunova - silver medalist of the 1976 Olympic Games, four-time medalist of the world championships (1974, 1977, 1979) [7] [8] ,
  • Ilya Shtokalov - bronze medalist of the 2016 Olympic Games,
  • Elena Anyushina - three-time bronze medalist of the European Championships (2014, 2015, 2017), champion of Russia [9] [10] [11] [12] .
