Biography
Igor Prince was born on June 23, 1955 in Alupka. His father served in the border troops [1] . In 1972 he graduated from secondary school No. 1 in Alupka and entered the ship department of the Black Sea Higher Naval School named after P. S. Nakhimov . Upon graduation, on July 10, 1977 he was appointed commander of the large anti-submarine ship Ochakov . In 1982, he completed training at the higher officer classes of the Navy in Leningrad, and after graduation he continued his service at Ochakovo. As part of the ship’s crew, he participated in campaigns in the Mediterranean Sea [2] .
As one of the best specialists, on April 22, 1983 he was appointed head of the 70th Air Defense Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet. Three years later, in August 1986 he was sent to study at the A. A. Grechko Naval Academy in Leningrad. After graduation, on July 8, 1988 he was appointed head of the air defense of the 39th division of the Black Sea Fleet. On October 31, 1989, as a captain of rank 2, he became a senior officer in the air defense department of the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet [2] .
At the end of 1992, he decided to serve in the Ukrainian Navy. The prince was sent to the organizational group of the naval forces of Ukraine in Sevastopol. After which he was appointed head of the air defense department of the headquarters of the Ukrainian Navy. He was engaged in the creation of an air defense system of the Ukrainian High Command. He also participated in the development of documents for the division of the Black Sea Fleet . By order of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine on July 14, 1994, he was awarded the rank of captain of the 1st rank. From 1995 to 1997, he studied at the Academy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the faculty of training specialists of operational-strategic level. In June 1997, he was appointed chief of operations management and deputy chief of staff of the Ukrainian Navy. On August 25, 1999, he was the First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ukrainian Navy, and on August 22, 2000, the President awarded him the title of Rear Admiral [2] . He took part in the preparation of the international exercises Redoubt, Sea Breeze and Fairway of the World . He participated in the signing of the agreement on the establishment of the Blackseafor organization, which includes the countries of the Black Sea region [1] .
On April 9, 2001, he was appointed commander of the Southern Sea Region (since 2003, the Southern Naval Base of Ukraine), which was based in Novoozernoye . During his leadership, base ships participated in Partnership for Peace exercises. In June 2001, commanded the campaign of the large landing ship " Konstantin Olshansky ", which took part in the joint Ukrainian-Georgian exercises "Cooperative partner-2001". In January 2003, he commanded the Olshansky campaign in Greek Kavala. The landing ship returned with batteries for the Zaporozhye submarine and fire, which was solemnly installed on the day of the celebration of the 2500th anniversary of Evpatoria in the central square of the city [2] .
By decree of the President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma of May 21, 2003, the Prince was appointed commander of the Ukrainian Navy [3] . In December 2003, together with the Commander of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia, Vice Admiral Vladimir Masorin, signed the document “On the Enactment of the Rules for the Raid Service of the Ukrainian Navy and the Black Sea Fleet at Sevastopol-based Raids” [4] . In February 2004, he visited the Romanian Braila, where he met with the Commander-in-Chief of the Romanian Navy, Admiral Corneliu Rudenca [5] . In April 2004, he visited Tbilisi, where he took part in a meeting of the commanders of the Blacksifor members [6] . In 2005, he joined the joint Ukrainian-Russian interstate commission [7] . In May 2005, took part in a meeting of the commanding countries of the Blacksifor members in Romanian Constanta [8] . In July 2005, as part of the Slavutich control ship, he made a friendly visit to the city of Kotor (Serbia and Montenegro) [9] .
After the conflict around Tuzla, the Prince lobbied for the completion of the Ukraine missile cruiser in parliament [10] .
In the summer of 2005, President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko again appointed him to the post of commander of the Navy [11] . In October 2005, he took part in a meeting of the fleet commanders of NATO countries and partner countries in Athens [12] . In November 2005, he participated in a meeting of the commanders of the Blacksifor member in Bucharest [13] . In February 2006, he visited Italian Naples, where he met with the naval component of NATO forces in southern Europe, Vice Admiral Roberto Cesaretti [14] , and then arrived in Turkey on an official visit [15] . On March 23, 2006, President Yushchenko dismissed the Prince [16] .
Since 2006, the Prince was deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine [1] . In June 2006, he participated in a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Commission in Brussels [17] . In November 2011, he joined the council of elders of the club as an admiral and generals of the Ukrainian Navy [18] . Later he became an attaché for defense at the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States [19] .

Personal life
Married - Larisa Nikolaevna. Together they raised two children. Maria and Alexandra. Both linked their lives with the fleet and serve in the Ukrainian Navy [1] .
Igor’s hobbies are hunting, spearfishing and fishing [1] .
