Ottmar Hörl ( German: Ottmar Hörl ; 1950 , Nauheim , Germany ) - German conceptual artist , sculptor. President of the Academy of Fine Arts of Nuremberg (2005-2017), laureate of the CREO Innovation Award (2015) and other awards [1] [2] [3] . He achieved worldwide fame thanks to his radical, avant-garde art concepts, as well as large-scale projects that feature serial sculptures in public places, the most famous of which were dedicated to Albrecht Dürer , Karl Marx , as well as the anti-fascist project “Dance with the Devil” (2008) and the hooligan project "Sponti" (1994, 2006). Ottmar Hörl is one of the most successful and significant contemporary artists of Germany, creating serial conceptual sculptures and realizing his vision of art for everyone in the open space, thereby contributing to the democratization of sculpture like no other before him [4] [5] . He stands for "a new type of public art" [4] . In addition, he is one of the founders of the Formalhaut group. Lives and works in Wertheim , Frankfurt and Nuremberg .
