Biography

Born July 5, 1960 in the city of Arkhangelsk .

In 1977 he graduated from high school number 14 of the city of Syktyvkar

In 1977-1982 he studied at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Syktyvkar State University (SSU).

In 1982, he worked as a physics teacher at evening shift school No. 2.

In 1983-1985 he studied at the graduate school of the Komi Scientific Center of the Ural Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences .

Scientific work

In 1985-1995 he worked at the Institute of Geology of the Komi Scientific Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in positions ranging from a junior research assistant to a scientific secretary of the Institute. He studied the weathering processes and patterns of formation of aluminum-iron-sulfate-phosphate minerals in the Far North. He made numerous expeditions to the area of ​​"Paykhoy anticlinorium " ( Pai-Khoi ) [2] .

At the same time, in 1989-1993, he was the director of the Geoscience enterprise, which issued more than 20 monographs and collections. Organizer of the publication “Bulletin of the Institute of Geology” [3]

In 1987 he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of geological and mineralogical sciences on the topic "Mineralogy of the Pai-Hoi phosphate-bearing shale hypergenesis zone."

As a historian of geology , he studied mining and industrial development in the European North-East of Russia. He worked at the National Archives of the Komi Republic and expeditions to old copper and iron mines and production facilities. Almost prepared a doctoral dissertation on the topic "Mineral resources, as the basis for the spatial development and creation of the Komi industry in the XX century."

He studied the history of expeditionary geological study of the Komi territory, the formation in the republic of scientific institutions and the base of the USSR Academy of Sciences . Recreated the history of many mining industries in the region, among them:

  • Tsilemsky copper mines
  • Izhemsky asphaltite mine
  • Izhemsky helium plant
  • Ejyk-Kirta Coal Deposit - the first coal of the Pechora basin
  • Kozhimsky coal deposit and coal mining enterprise
  • Kozhimsky, Nyuvchimsky, Nyuchpassky iron ore production and metallurgical plants
  • Seregovsky salt factory
  • Harbey Molybdenum Mine (1947-1954) - the first mining enterprise in the Polar Urals
  • Water radium industry.

For his contribution to the history of science, he was elected a full member of the International Commission on the History of Geological Sciences (INHIGEO), at the 39th session of the commission, held in July 2014 in the United States.

Organizational work

In 1995-2005 he worked at Hermes-Komi JSC and at the Fund for Economic and Political Technologies LLC.

In 2005-2011, he worked in the Mining Department of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Komi Republic, where he devoted much attention to studying the history of mining.

Since 2011, he headed the A. A. Chernov Geological Museum of the Institute of Geology of the Komi Scientific Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He developed scientific ties with many scientists, especially the Kola Science Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences , Ukhta , Moscow , Sweden and Finland .

He died suddenly on July 15, 2014 in the city of Syktyvkar , was buried in Syktyvkar [ where? ] .

Awards and titles

  • 2003 - Laureate of the All-Russian competition for the best print publication of 2002 for the literary almanac "Road with a sad crossroads."
  • 2009 - Certificate of honor from the Ministry of Culture of the Komi Republic for contribution to the development of literature.
  • 2010 - Laureate of the Prize of the Government of the Komi Republic named after I. A. Kuratov in the field of literature.
