Doni Ratish

Doni Ratish ( Serb. Donji Ratish, Donji Ratiš ; Alb. Ratish i Ulët ) is a village in the community of Decani in the historical region of Metohija . Since 2008, it has been under the control of the partially recognized Republic of Kosovo .

History

The village was first mentioned in the decree of King Stephen Dechansky in 1330 under the name Ratishevtsi. Then there were 17 Serbian houses in the village. In 1492 it is mentioned as Radosh; 2 Serbian houses. In 1921, it is listed under the name Doni Ratish [4] .

In 1935, the church of the Holy Trinity was built in the village. In 1941, it was destroyed by the Albanians. The church was restored in 1992. In 1996-1998, she was attacked seven times. After the arrival of the Italian forces of KFOR, the church was completely destroyed [5] .

Population

According to the 1981 census, 453 people lived in the village: 420 Albanians and 32 Montenegrins [6] .

According to the 2011 census, 560 people lived in the village: 297 men and 263 women; all Albanians [7] .
