Bosnia and Herzegovina at the 2018 Winter Olympics was represented by 4 athletes in two disciplines of skiing. Only once did the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina send fewer athletes to the Olympic Games. At the 2002 Winter Olympics, only 2 people were part of the Bosnian application. Both at the opening ceremony of the Games and at the closing ceremony, the right to fly the national flag was entrusted to the skier Elvedina Muzaferiya [1] . Following the results of the competition, the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which took part in its seventh Olympic Winter Games, again remained without medals.

National Team

The application of the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina for participation in the 2018 Games included 4 athletes (2 men and 2 women) who performed in 2 Olympic disciplines. The head of the delegation was appointed former footballer Said Fazlagich [2] .

Qualification of athletes for participation in the Olympic Games was carried out on the basis of the FIS special qualification rating as of January 21, 2018 [3] . At the same time, the NOC for participation in the Olympic Games could choose only the athlete who entered the top 500 Olympic rating in his discipline, and at the same time had a certain number of points, according to the qualification table [4] . Countries that did not have participants among the 500 strongest athletes could only apply for category B quotas in technical disciplines [4] . Based on the qualification results, the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina won 2 Olympic licenses of category “A” [5] .

  Cross country skiing

Qualification of athletes for participation in the Olympic Games was carried out on the basis of the FIS special qualification rating as of January 21, 2018 [6] . To obtain an Olympic license of category “A”, athletes needed to score a maximum of 100 points in the FIS distance rating [7] . Moreover, each NOC can apply for the Games 1 man and 1 woman, if they have met the qualification criterion “B”, according to which they can take part in sprint and races of 10 km for women or 15 km for men [7] . According to the results of the qualification selection, the Greek team won the men's Olympic license of category “A” and the female category “B” [8] .
