  • Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR No. 4964-2148ss / op β€œOn Awarding and Bonus for Outstanding Scientific Work in the Field of the Use of Atomic Energy, for the Creation of New Types of RDS, Advances in Plutonium and Uranium-235 Production and the Development of the Raw Material Base for the Nuclear Industry” came out 6 December 1951, under the heading "Top Secret"

Introductory part

The Council of Ministers of the USSR notes that as a result of the efforts of scientists, designers, engineers, executives, workers and employees of the nuclear industry over the past two years, serious new achievements have been achieved in the further development of work on the use of atomic energy, namely:

- The Government’s task to create new designs of powerful RDS products was successfully completed;

- mastered the industrial production of uranium-235 by the diffusion method, giving a deeper production of uranium-235 from natural uranium in comparison with the use of uranium in the production of plutonium;

Considering the exceptional merits to the Soviet motherland in solving the problem of the use of atomic energy and in accordance with the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR dated March 21, 1946 No. 627-258 *, the Council of Ministers of the USSR decided to award the Stalin Prizes:
