Biography
He has been engaged in speed skating since 2007 in the club “Tervis” ( Põltsamaa ), a graduate of coach Vayno Treiman Since the mid-2010s, he has also been training in Germany (Inzell Academy, coach Wim den Elsen) and in Austria.
Since 2010, he participated in the Estonian Junior Championships, has repeatedly been a champion and medalist. Since 2012, he participated in the Youth World Cup. In the season 2014/15, he became the winner of the youth (U20) World Cup in team sprint, won twice in the 2015/16 season and was a winner in personal disciplines several times. At the World Junior Championships 2016 in China, Changchun won the bronze medal at a distance of 1000 m, the fifth - at 1500 m, the tenth - at 500 m and the fourth - in the all-around.
In 2015, he took part in the Estonian Adult Championship for the first time and became a five-time champion, winning all distances and all-round events. In the future, repeatedly won the national championships. As of December 2017, he holds national records at distances of 500, 1000, 1500, 3000 and 5000 meters.
From the 2015/16 season participates in the World Cup among adults. At the European Championships 2017 in the all-around sprint was the 16th. At the 2018 European Championship in Kolomna, he occupied the 18th and 16th places at 500 and 1000 m. He received the right to participate in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang .
He also participated in roller skating competitions , became the champion and medalist of Estonian championships.
