Quay d'Orsay ( fr. Quai d'Orsay ) is a quay in the 7th arrondissement of Paris , located on the left bank of the River Seine, starting from the Concord Bridge to the Alma Bridge. The name also refers to the street along the promenade. The embankment passes into the embankment of Anatole France to the east of the Bourbon palace and into the embankment of Branly to the west of the Alma bridge. The French Foreign Ministry is located on the Orsay Embankment, and this department is often called the street name Quai d'Orsay (Orsay Quay). Orsay embankment got its name in honor of Charles Boucher d'Orsay, an adviser to parliament in Paris, who served as a Prevo during the construction of the pier in the early 18th century. In 1941, part of the Orsay Embankment was renamed Branli Quay ( Fr. Quai Branly ).
